Intro

If there isn’t enough snow down below, the car-free plateau of Bargis offers a worthwhile alternative: a charming cross-country trail at the foot of the Ringelspitz, including a mystical mountain forest and snowy alpine pastures.

Description

A great choice and a sure-fire hit: the trail in the car-free high valley of Bargis around 1,550 m above sea level is surrounded by forests, meadows and impressive rock formations. It runs into the heart of the peaceful mountain landscape at the foot of the Piz Dolf and Ringelspitz (known in Romansh as the Piz Barghis).

We glide through the wide valley, passing wild animal tracks, mountain pines and alpine huts covered with deep snow. At first, the route follows the right-hand side of the frozen Aua da Mulins stream and almost returns to the start, though this is only the halfway point. The trail turns again and runs in a large loop – this time on the other side of the stream – to Alp Bargis.

A final loop brings skiers back to the starting point at the entrance to the valley, next to the bus stop and restaurant.

An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
