Climb up 1,500m in altitude from Andermatt to the Gemsstock, at almost 3,000m above sea level. From this vantage point that is truly in the heart of the Swiss Alps, you have all-round views sweeping across half of Switzerland.

The panoramic view stretches across large parts of the Valais Haute Route: to the west, the Dents du Midi and Mont Blanc; to the south, the Grand Combin with the Val de Bagnes and Mauvoisin reservoir; to the east, the Weisshorn, Dent Blanche and Matterhorn; and northwards across the Rhone Valley to the Vaud and the Bernese Alps.

It’s not hard to pinpoint the distinctive head of rock at the entrance to the Bernese Oberland – but the fact that you can stand pretty much on top to enjoy views direction Thun, Aare Valley and Bern as far as Jura is known to few.

It’s no wonder that the Moléson has a special place in the hearts of Fribourg’s citizens: the journey up to the panoramic peak is an adventure in itself. Once you reach the summit, you are greeted by wonderful 360° panoramic views of the Gruyère Pre-Alps and the Bernese and Valais Alps.

モンテ・ブレの向かいにある標高912mのルガーノを代表する山。ルガーノのパラディーゾ地区Paradisoからケーブルカーで山頂まで約10分で結びます。眼下にはルガーノの湖と街並、ロンバルディアの平原、奥にはスイスアルプスを含む山々の360度パノラマビューが広がっています。

ヴァレー州とベルン州の境となるゲンミ峠（標高2314m）。通商の道として約200年前から多くの旅人が行き交った歴史的なアルプスの峠で、作家ゲーテやコナン・ドイルも訪れており、 山上湖ダウベンゼーは小説『シャーロック・ホームズ最後の事件』にも登場しています。トーマスクックによる世界初のスイスツアー旅行のコースにも入っていました。

標高約3100mを誇るロートホルンからは、ツェルマットを取り囲む38峰の4000級の山々を見渡すことができます。好みによりますが、マッターホルンを撮影するベストポイントのひとつといえるでしょう。大きなテラスのあるレストランでは、眺望とともに食事も楽しめます。周辺は冬のスキー場としても有名ですが、夏にはハイキングを楽しむ人も多くみかけます。途中駅のブラウヘルトからは逆さマッターホルンで有名な山上湖へのハイキングが人気です。

From a stroll around the old town to the hiking trail, the city of Chur, with its local mountain Brambrüesch, has nature right on its doorstep. Hiking trails, meadows filled with flowers and cycling routes can all be reached in no time at all via cable car.

サレーヴ・ケーブルカーに乗れば、ジュネーブ郊​​外から標高1100メートルまでわずか5分で到着します。山頂からは、レマン湖、モンブラン、ジュラ山脈の360度のパノラマビューが楽しめます。

コルヴィリア・ケーブルカーとピッツ・ネール・ロープウェイに乗れば、短時間で標高3000メートル以上まで行くことができます。ピッツ・ネール山の頂上からは、エンガディン湖水地方とアルブラ・アルプスの峰々を見渡すパノラマが広がります。

The “Funi” (funicular railway), which overhang the Old Town and the river Sarine, is a “technical engineering marvel”, listed as a cultural asset of national importance. This nostalgic railway has been running since 1899 – with no exhaust fumes.

エンガディン地方のディアヴォレッツァ・ケーブルカーに乗れば、わずか数分で標高2,978メートルまで行くことができます。ここからは、東アルプスで唯一の4000メートル級の山であるピッツ・ベルニナ、ピッツ・パリュ、そしてペルス氷河とモルテラッチ氷河を眺めることができます。

It's worth making the trip here just for the views of the city and Lake Lugano. Opposite stands San Salvatore, Monte San Giorgio looms above the lake and dam of Melide and the Valais Alps can be seen to the west.

山の女王といわれアルプス観光の先駆けとして古くから発展したリギ山へは、ヨーロッパ最古となるフィッツナウからの登山鉄道のほか、アルト・ゴルダウからの登山鉄道、ヴェッギスからのロープウェイで結びます。ルツェルン湖、ツーク湖、ラウエルツ湖、奥に連なるアルプスのパノラマビューや多彩なハイキングが楽しめます。

シュヴィーツ郊外のシュラットリからガソリン車乗り入れ禁止の山村シュトースまで結ぶケーブルカー。最高勾配110%（1100パーミル）で、世界一急勾配のケーブルカーとなりました。アルプスの険しい山の斜面をのぼっていく虫のような、ドラム型キャビン（客車）をつなげた独特の形も話題を集めています。

スイスを代表する氷河の山アラリンホルンの麓に位置するミッテルアラリンは標高3500mの万年雪と氷河の世界でサース・フェーの観光ハイライトです。世界最高所の回転レストランと氷の洞窟（氷の宮殿）が有名。4000m級の山々に囲まれたアルプスの絶景展望スポットで、ヴァレー山群はもちろん、アイガー、メンヒ、ユングフラウの３名山を含むベルナーアルプス、フランスからイタリアの峰々まで見渡すことができます。一帯は夏スキーも楽しめる人気のスキー場でもあります。

カンデルシュテーク・エッシーネンゼー・ゴンドラリフトに乗れば、ユネスコ世界遺産に登録されているユングフラウ・アレッチまで行くことができます。標高1578メートルのこの場所では、ターコイズブルーのオエッシネン湖があなたを待っています。周囲は切り立った岩壁に囲まれている。

Despite undergoing a number of technical updates, the funicular railway still radiates the same nostalgic charm and romance it did way back in 1879.

The glacier to the west of the Wildstrubel is flat, 200 metres thick in places, and drains mainly towards Lenk in the Bernese Oberland but also into the Rhone Valley in Valais.

This viewpoint was known a long time ago for ore mining, but is now famous for its far-reaching views. You could spot as many as 1,000 peaks from up here.

Even the Neanderthals came here. Today, the cable car sweeps over the rugged rocks and once inhabited caves to the Ebenalp, the starting point for a wide range of discoveries.

The lowest and highest points in Switzerland at a glance: Lake Maggiore to the south and the Valais Alps with the Dufourspitze to the west. All just five minutes from the city of Locarno. This is the Cardada mountain.

The Parsenn funicular climbs the Weissfluhjoch in two sections much like an express train. With the Davos landscape below us, the view extends as far as Piz Kesch, the Bernina and 60 kilometres to the south.

A place for anyone who seeks peace and quiet, appreciates nature and wants to experience history. The historic hotel and Alpine landscape are what makes this spot 300 metres above Davos so special.

The skiing and hiking areas in Rougemont are known for their gentle slopes, among other things. Not so the La Videmanette mountain surrounding the “le Rubi” limestone stack. This a a genuine alpine area.

This easy-to-climb 3,000-metre peak in the Val d’Anniviers valley is often described as the best mountain in the Valais for views. You can see into the high mountains, the Weisshorn and Dent Blanche close by and the Matterhorn in the distance.

The Monte Tamaro lies in the triangle between Lugano, Bellinzona and Locarno. It is famous for the Santa Maria degli Angeli church designed by Mario Botta and the scenic ridge walk from Monte Lema.

The ridge between Lake Neuchâtel and the Val de Ruz valley is Neuchâtel’s local mountain. It boasts stunning views, a hotel and a path that tells the story of the earth, and is the starting point for many hikes in the Jura.

ティチーノ州を代表する山のひとつジェネローゾ山（標高1704m）。ルガーノ湖畔の町カポラーゴから山頂までは小さな登山鉄道が約40分で結びます。 山頂からはルガーノ湖や、ロンバルディア地方はもちろん、遠くマッターホルンやモンテローザ、アイガー、ユングフラウなどのスイスアルプスまで望むことができるでしょう。
