The climb to the start point and the descent are steeply sloping, but have good safety. There is a charge for the Moléson via ferrata; 4 Swiss francs per person; the money is used to maintain the via ferrata. However, the route is not really suitable for beginners.

The beginners and children’s fixed-rope route is located at an elevation of 1900 meters above sea level, behind the mountain inn of Gumen. Children that dare to climb a bit higher have the opportunity to gain experiences on the mountain.

The concept of the Via Ferrata came about in Italy and was largely developed in this country. A variant of rock climbing, it involves following a route through the rocks, equipped with a double-length safety rope. After collecting your equipment, take the cable car to the start of the Via Ferrata and get ready to start having fun!

The via ferrata leading from Mürren to Gimmelwald requires courage and no fear of heights, but in return offers plenty of thrills and an adrenaline booster.
