Wskazówki na temat bezpiecznej jazdy
Cycling is the perfect way to combine being out in nature with exercise and relaxation. These seven tips are the secret to safe bike touring:
- Planning: Careful route planning is the key to a successful bike tour. It is important to know the distances and altitude gains of the chosen route.
- Health: Ensure you eat and drink enough along the way, because exercise and fresh air are sure ways to work up an appetite!
- The bike: It is best to have a fully equipped and well-maintained bike. Check your rental bike before you start cycling.
- Pace: Not being in a rush is a safer and more enjoyable way to ride. Allow enough time for breaks, punctures, detours and shopping on your bike tour.
- Adults can manage between 15km and 20km per hour, but with children it is less than 10km
- After three or four hours of cycling, the element of fun might diminish and it becomes harder to pay attention to traffic
- Gravel roads and even a small incline will slow you down
- In the group: Adapt your speed and daily distance to the weakest member of the group. Agree a meeting point if you are cycling in a larger group.
- Cycling with children: Children love change and might shy away from strenuous exertion. Choose a route that has no long ascents or downhills, planning in enough time for them to stop, marvel and play.
- Equipment/luggage: Ideally, you should keep your belongings in waterproof bike bags. Attach all bags properly and make sure nothing can get caught in the spokes. Ensure you are visible in poor light and fog by wearing light clothing and fixing reflective strips to the bike.
