ツァンフローラン氷河を中心にディアブルレ氷河など大小８つの氷河が連なってできた広大な雪原。スノーアクティビティやスノーバス、トレッキングなど、１年を通して万年雪と氷河を体験することができるエリアです。有名建築家マリオ・ボッタが手がけたセ・ルージュ山頂駅には、窓からの素晴らしい眺望と美味しい料理で人気のレストランもあります。

The little stream is quiet and dreamy as it lazily meanders through Vallorbe, but it soon becomes a roaring torrent as it rushes through the huge Orbe Gorge, where waterfalls alternate with spectacular rapids. A hike through the cool gorge is especially good on hot summer days. The river near the Saut du Day waterfall is the perfect spot to cool your feet.

モントルーのハウスマウンテンといわれる標高2042mの山で、レマン湖とフレンチアルプスとスイスアルプスを見渡す眺望が美しい展望スポット。高山植物やマーモットとのふれあいが楽しめる夏季にはハイキングが人気。冬季にはスキー場となります。一年を通してモントルーから山頂へアプト式登山鉄道で結びます。

Left beside the Dents du Midi you catch a glimpse of the majestic Mont Blanc, while looking right the Diablerets and mighty Matterhorn – and between the Col du Pillon and Col des Mosses you spy the Eiger. The mountain above Leysin and Aigle is famous for the “Kuklos” revolving restaurant – from the Greek for “circle” or “rotation”.

時計の聖地といわれるジュー谷のル・ブラッシュにオープンした「オーデマ・ピゲ」の時計博物館。1875年に創業し、機械式時計の製造を牽引してきた過去から現在、そして未来のビジョンまで、世界トップの高級時計ブランドの全てを紹介しています。

薬学生のためにつくられた薬草園を中心に、ヴォー州に生育する幅広い植物を保存、研究するために1824年に設立された州立植物園。アルプス山脈やジュラ山脈の岩石を持ち込み自然の植生をできるだけ忠実に再現し、高山植物や水生植物など約6000種の植物を栽培しており、春から秋にかけて四季折々に美しい花々が楽しめます。

Every couple of minutes, a train from Lausanne-Ouchy by Lake Geneva runs almost silently uphill to the SBB railway station and onwards via the city centre (Flon) to Epalinges-Croisettes. The fully automated Métro trains are remotely controlled and spend half their time underground.

The old city of Vevey is dotted with historical monuments and museums bearing witness to its rich heritage. In addition, a large variety of boutiques and craftsmen can be found in the narrow paved streets, displaying their know-how and wares.

近代建築の父ともいわれるスイス出身の建築家ル・コルビュジエの作品群。スイスで建築家への道を歩みはじめ、主にフランスで活躍したコルビュジエの作品は世界各国にあり、その中からフランス、スイス、日本、ベルギー、ドイツ、アルゼンチン、インド７カ国にある17軒が、近代建築運動に大きな影響を及ぼした代表的な作品として、2016年、文化遺産に登録されました。 スイスからは、1923年から1924年にかけてコルビュジエが両親のためにヴヴェイ郊外コルソーのレマン湖畔つくった小さな家（ヴィラ・ル・ラク（湖の家））と1930年から1932年にジュネーヴに建設された集合住宅「クラルテ」の２軒になります。 当初は生まれ故郷のラ・ショードフォンにあるシュウォブ邸（ヴィラ・トゥルク）、ジャンヌレ邸（メゾン・ブランシュ）も申請されていましたが、価値を高く認められながらも、今回の登録の前に過去に2度登録を見送られている経緯から、各国の推薦資産は最初の暫定リストが見直され、今回の登録名に副題として「近代建築運動への顕著な貢献　Outstanding Contribution to the Modern Movement」とつけられているように、近代建築運動に寄与したと分かりやすい代表的な作品に絞り込まれました。

ヴォー州にあるベックスの塩鉱山では、何世紀にもわたって山から塩が採掘されてきた。鉱山列車に乗り込み、ランタンだけを手にトンネルを探検し、ツアーとブラッスリー・ラ・ミーヌでの食事を組み合わせましょう。

The Quays of Montreux extend over thirteen kilometers along the shores of Lake Geneva. Here, walkers can admire the exotic flowers and palm trees while also enjoying the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

ローザンヌ北部にある緑豊かな森林公園。2005年に完成した高さ35mの木造の見晴らし塔は、ローザンヌの森の木々を材料につくられました。151段の階段をあがれば、レマン湖やアルプス山脈、ジュラ山脈などを見渡す大パノラマが楽しめます。塔の利用は無料。小さな湖のほとりには、レストランもあり、週末にはいつも多くの人でにぎわっている市民の憩いの場所です。市内からバスで約30分。気軽に足をのばせるスポットです。

スイス南西部のレマン湖岸にあるローザンヌ郊外にあるヨーロッパ最大規模の淡水魚水族館「アクアティス」。約1万匹の魚類、爬虫類、両生類を間近で観察してみましょう。5大陸すべての淡水の世界を学ぶことができます。

This magnificent country park boasts one of the best vantage points in Lausanne. But the panoramic views are by no means the only attribute that attracts visitors. There is a tree here that is worth a visit all on its own. This is a unique weeping willow, situated some 50 metres from the manor house, that was planted in the middle of the 19th century.

Resurgence where the Orbe rises out of the mountain into its stony, very green riverbed. You can see the resurgence and the entrance to the riverbed, as well as a wild, natural environment. The discovery of the Vallorbe caves took place via this resurgence. Indeed, it was through this "entrance" that the first explorations of the cave were made. Thanks to their courage and the few diving techniques available at the time, speleologists discovered the immensity of the Vallorbe caves. It was in 1893 that the first explorer began to travel upstream, but it was not until 1961 that the caves were discovered. This is the only known natural entrance to the caves.

The skiing and hiking areas in Rougemont are known for their gentle slopes, among other things. Not so the La Videmanette mountain surrounding the “le Rubi” limestone stack. This a a genuine alpine area.
