ユングフラウ地方のラウターブルンネン谷にある名爆。絶景に感動したゲーテやワーズワースが詩をしたためるほど、アルプスの名峰をバックに岩壁からしぶきをあげて流れ落ちる美しい滝です。

標高2757m、ツェルマットのゴルナーグラート山麓にあるマッターホルンを望む山上湖。湖面に美しいマッターホルンの姿を映すミラーレイクとして最も有名です。絶景が広がる展望台ゴルナーグラートへ結ぶ登山鉄道の途中駅からすぐのところにあるため、気軽にアクセスできる人気スポットです。

Lac de Joux in the Vaud Jura is located at 1,000 metres in the valley of the same name (Vallée de Joux). The stark beauty and unspoilt nature of the high valley and the lake attract countless visitors all year round; in summer mainly for water sports, biking and hiking and in winter for ice-skating and cross-country skiing.

マッジョーレ湖に浮かぶブリッサーゴ諸島には、スイスでも唯一となる島全体が植物園という珍しい場所があります。湖の浮き島という環境や極地的に特別な気象条件のおかげで、ここでは世界中から集められた約1500種類の植物や花を楽しむことができます。

Though there are many mountain lakes at higher altitudes, Lake Sils is the only one with daily scheduled passenger boats in summer that carry tourists and hikers from Sils Maria to Maloja via Chastè, Plaun da Lej and Isola. This is Europe's highest passenger boat service.

ベルナーオーバーラント地方のアルプス山麓にあり、氷河から流れこむターコイズブルーともエメラルドグリーンともいわれる深い青緑色の水をたたえる神秘的な湖。"２つの湖"という意味をもつインターラーケンをはさんで、トゥーン湖とほぼ対称に並んでいます。

Experience the Berglistüber near Linthal in Glarnerland: The Fätschbach plunges 44 meters into the depths here. A short path leads you close to the thundering waterfall.

標高887m、カンダー谷にあるコバルトブルーからエメラルドグリーンにきらめく神秘的な山の湖。地下の泉から湧き出る湖水はその特別な色と透明度の高さで有名な湖です。この湖を形成した古代の落石の名残である岩石が点在する、森の木々に囲まれた20万平方メートルの広大な自然公園の真ん中に位置しています。高品質で知られるオーガニック・トラウト（マス）の養魚場もあり、湖の横にあるホテル・レストランで食べることもできるので、ランチと組み合わせるのも良いでしょう。

黒い湖という意味のシュヴァルツゼー（シュヴァルツ湖）は、フリブール・プレアルプス地方の山々に囲まれた谷間にあり、その名のように深い色の水をたたえた湖と氷河によって形成された深い谷が景観が織り成す、ワイルドで幻想的な絶景で知られています。

Above Les Mosses, Lake Lioson is bordered by the imposing peaks of the Vaud Alps. Take a moment to enjoy the idyllic scenery and the emerald green water of the lake. There's a good reason why Lake Lioson is known as the pearl of the Alpine lakes.

標高2234m。エンガディン地方とポスキアーヴォ谷を分けるベルニナ峠にあり、世界遺産にも認定されているレーティッシュ鉄道ベルニナ線の最高地点にあたるオスピツィオ・ベルニナ駅前に広がる山上湖。”白い湖”という意味を持つように、カンブレナ氷河から溶け出る水が注ぐ青白い水の色が美しい湖です。

“... nowhere have I felt so truly happy as on St. Peter's Island in the middle of Lake Biel,” wrote Jean-Jacques Rousseau shortly before his death, wistfully recalling his all too short stay on the island in the autumn of 1765.

東スイス地方の主要な川であるトゥーア川。トッゲンブルグ地方に源があり、豊かな文化と美しい景色に恵まれたザンクト・ガレン州やトゥールガウ州、そしてチューリヒ州のそばを大きな弧を描きながら流れています。

ウンターエンガディン地方にあるラヴィンとツェルネッツの間。標高約2650mの高原に、大小23の山上湖が点在する幻想的な湖水群。水晶や鉱石がとれる土壌で希少な高山植物も楽しむことができます。2000年夏から一帯は飛び地としてスイス国立公園の一部となりました。アクセスするには約6時間ほどのハードなハイキングになるが、辿り着いたときは感動すること間違いなしです。

The small and fjord-like Lake Schiffenen at Düdingen is a popular excursion destination for young and old.

Lake Ägeri is nestled in a hilly moraine landscape and offers a wide range of hiking, mountain biking and water sports activities. Its shores were the site of the famous Battle of Morgarten in 1315, the first battle between the Confederates and the Habsburgs.

中央スイス地方にあり、スイス連邦発祥の地となった４原州を結ぶ湖。正式名は”4つの森の州の湖”という意味を持つフィアヴァルトシュテッテ湖 Vierwaldstatterseeですが、通称、英名のルツェルン湖と呼ばれています。スイスで5番目に大きな湖（スイス領だけの面積でみると４番目)で、南のウルナー湖、西のアルプナッハ湖ともつながって非常に複雑な形をした湖で、数々の入江と周囲の山々が織り成す美しい景色は幻想的です。

Those who look towards Wildstrubel from Adelboden know little of the peaceful Alp that lies almost hidden at half-height in the valley basin. The entrance leads past the 600 meter-high Engstligenfälle.

Lake Sarnen occupies 7.5 square kilometers in the beautiful landscape between Sarnen (a major town in the region of Obwald) and the ascent to the Brünig Pass.

中央スイス地方を代表するロイス川。ゴッタルド地方に源を発し、ゆるやかに北へ向かって流れ、ルツェルン湖を経て、160kmの流れの終わりにはヴィンディッシュ付近でアーレ川へ合流します。

The idyllic hilly countryside around the lake, the medieval castle of Hallwyl with its heritage exhibitions, and the romantic boat trips round the lake make Lake Hallwil and the nearby Seetal valley a small but popular tourist area.

In the middle of the Vallée de La Brévine, just half an hour from La Chaux-de-Fonds, lies the picturesque Lac des Taillères. The lake is impressive all year round, with an atmosphere that changes with the seasons and that touch of Jura magic, combining landscape with nature.

スイス領内の面積だけではレマン湖よりも大きく、国内だけの湖としては最大となるヌーシャテル湖。先史時代から湖岸に人々が暮らしてきた長い歴史を誇っており、とくに重要なケルト時代の品々が発見されています。隣接するモラ湖、ビール湖とは運河で結ばれており、昔から３つの湖をめぐるクルーズでも有名。1872年にはすでに運航をスタートしています。

グラウビュンデン・アルプスの山々とフリムスの森の木々に囲まれた美しい湖。よく宝石にたとえられるように、氷河から流れ出るミネラルを含んだ透明度の高い山の水は、光の当たり方によってエメラルドグリーンからターコイズブルーへと変化し、季節によって色をかえる西洋カラマツの木々が水面に映り込み、四季折々に異なる表情を描き出しています。ロマンシュ語で「休息所」を意味する名前の通り、深い森に包まれた湖は、日常を忘れてリラックスしたり、大自然を感じながら静かに散策するのに最適です。

Nestled between the Rigi and the Grosser and Kleiner Mythen mountains in the canton of Schwyz lies Lake Lauerz and its pleasure island of Schwanau that is about 200m long.
