ロマンシュ語で"イン河の庭"を意味するエンガディン地方。マローヤ峠を源流にオーストリアでドナウ河に合流するイン河に沿ってのびる山間の長い谷で、レート・ロマンシュ語の一種を話す地域です。オーバー（上）とウンター（下）の２つのエリアに分かれており、河の上流にあたる南側の方をオーバーエンガディンと呼んでいます。

The region of Obersaxen Mundaun is a vacation destination for experiencing nature and culture. The hamlets of Obersaxen (a typical Walser community with 29 farms) and Mundaun (Surcuolm & Flond) are located on a 12 km long sun terrace at 1,072 to 1,430 meters above sealevel.

Malbun is the main holiday resort in the little Principality of Liechtenstein. This small village is ideal for families in summer or winter. There are many cultural attractions to visit in the nearby capital, Vaduz.

Situated at 1'100 m altitude, the peaceful village of Torgon overlooks the Rhône valley and Lake Geneva. Ideally located, the town is close to Montreux and Aigle and only 45 minutes from Lausanne and 75 minutes from Geneva.

The Trient Valley (Vallée du Trient) links Martigny in Lower Valais via the border town of Le Châtelard with Chamonix, the well-known French resort at the foot of Mont Blanc. A community of ten villages close to Grand Saint Bernard, Liddes boasts a vast, mountainous landscape and a huge variety of hiking trails and sites.

Through the Val Ferrera the way leads to Cröt, from where the road winds up to Cresta over numerous bends. Cresta lies at 1,958 meters above sea level and is the main town of the Avers municipality, and Juf is found at the far end of the valley. Europe’s highest permanently inhabited community lies at an altitude of over 2,100 meters above sea level.

For those who are looking for peace and quiet, Madulain is the place to go. The smallest commune in the upper Engadine has no more than 200 inhabitants, but the special charm of its typical Engadine houses and cultivated Rhaeto-Romanic culture is all the more convincing.
